Well, with everyone trying to travel light nowadays, convertible pieces or clothing that can be worn in more ways than one are perfect to add to your packing-list. Here are some options that I think are pretty cool:

First up is made by a Canadian company. It’s called the The Chrysalis Cardi by Encircled. It can be worn in 8 different ways – as a cardigan, tunic, a poncho, infinity scarf and multiple different dress styles. You can get one for $138 at Encircled.ca. And there is a video tutorial on the website to teach you all the ways to wear it. How handy!

Next, is Columbia’s Silver Ridge Convertible Pant that turns into shorts with its zip-off legs. It is made out of a quick-wicking fabric that features built-in sun protection. They are great for travelling from a cool climate to a warmer one because you don’t have to bring extra shorts. They also come in 5 colours. You can find them at ColumbiaSportsWear.ca for $55.

OK, well you may have heard of convertible clothing pieces before but what about convertible SHOES!? This is another Canadian company and let me tell you, this is really cool! The designer Tanya Heath was featured on Dragon’s Den for her unique invention.Basically with all the shoes; you can purchase interchangeable heels. This can completely change up the style from flats to heels — so one pair will take you farther without much more room in your suitcase. They start at about $130 and you can find them at TanyaHeathCanada.com.

Next on the list is the Travelling Stretch Convertible Men’s Shirt from Mountain Warehouse. The lightweight, stretchy fabric and underarm mesh air vents keep you cool, and the long sleeves roll up neatly into a button cuff to transform the garment into a short-sleeve shirt. You can get one at MountainWarehouse.com for $27.

I am sure by now you have heard of the brand Lululemon. This company that started out here in Vancouver is now sold all over the world. Their Vinyasa Scarf can is the perfect airplane blanket, scarf, cardigan and shawl, all in one! And it comes in 10 different patterns and colors. You can get one for $48 at Lululemon.com.
