Albuquerque is a city that receives 310 days of sunshine per year. Its known as an epicenter of authentic Southwestern culture and is home to a melting pot of cultures including Native American, Hispanic, Latino and Anglo.
Albuquerque is also home to the International Balloon Fiesta, the world's largest hot air balloon festival, which takes place each October. During this you'll see more than 700 balloons in the sky at a time. This magical event is considered to be the most photographed event in the world, drawing a huge international crowd of balloonists and spectators.
You can take excursions to see ancient cliff dwellings or petroglyphs as New Mexico's lands are full of discoveries: fascinating cultures, extraordinary landscapes and intriguing ruins.
Visitors are encouraged to visit New Mexico's Indian pueblos and reservations for dances and other special events related to Native American culture and traditions.
