It's located on the East Coast of Australia about an hour's drive south of Brisbane.
The beaches, golf and diving all attract visitors to the Gold Coast --- but the biggest draw is the fact that this area averages eight hours of sunshine, 300 days a year.
The Gold Coast has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and there are more that 40 patrolled beaches along the Gold Coast.
If you like the outdoors ---there are over hundred of kilometers of trails thru National Parks in the area and this is a golfers paradise. There are more than 40 courses --- including ones designed by Greg Norman, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus.
The best time of the year to visit is between Nov & May. The average temperature is between 20 - 25C ( 68 - 77F)
The sun is very strong on the Gold Coast so use a sunscreen with at least 15 SPF and wear a hat.
